Dear @cyclesandsex,

It has come to my attention that my nipples have the same taste as my vagina, and I find that both odd and a little unsettling. My partner was the one to point this out to me (not in a shaming type of way or anything) and I was pretty embarrassed because I had no idea why. I even smelled it on his breath and it made me very self-conscious. I turned to Google and unfortunately, found nothing, so I was wondering if maybe you'd know. I don't feel like anything is wrong with me and my sexual health is great, but I don't know if this is a normal occurrence for women. Sincerely,

Dear #WhatsUpWithMyNips

It’s not so surprising that these two womxn’s nipples taste like their vaginas! We womxn have a complex reproductive system in which all the elements – menstruation, conception, childbirth, lactation, and sexuality – are very intricately related and we have yet to uncover all its mysteries. Although vaginal or musky taste coming through the nipples is fairly rare, this interconnection between all the phases of sexuality could explain it. Maybe babies like that taste! If you are concerned, it’s good idea to get a checkup from your healthcare provider, especially if these smells accompany pain, discomfort or is relatively new!
