Dear @cyclesandsex,

I had a miscarriage about 2 months ago. But I was using the IUD Paraguard when I got pregnant.
What is the best birth control for me now?

Dear #NoMoreBabies

I'm so sorry you got pregnant with a Paraguard. Although uncommon, it is possible. Just to give you a few stats: 1/125 will get pregnant in a year with a copper IUD, 1 in 500 with a progestin IUD (ex Mirena), and 1 in 2000 with the arm implant (Nexplanon). The arm implant, or Nexplanon, is definitely an option. An IUD is still an option as well. It may be worth requesting an ultrasound soon after placement to confirm it's in the correct location if that's what you choose. I would also review the risks of expulsion if there was any concern that this happened the first time. If you do not desire future fertility, permanent sterilization is also an option for you or your partner (tubal ligation, salpingectomy (removal of the fallopian tubes), or vasectomy).

All the best,
